today i have finally reached 28 weeks and 6 days. the exact time i delivered lyla.
and ironically, today is lyla's home-coming day. the day she was released from the nicu,
and finally able to be at home with me and marco
as a family.
it was such a happy day...we were finally able to feel the joy new parents were supposed to feel.
we were able to be a family, and i was finally able to feel
like a mother.
so each year we celebrate her birthday, obviously, but so far it has been emotional for me.
i think about everything we all went through and it brings back too much
emotion.
but this day is about celebrating
the happy time of her being able to be home with us.
a whole two months after the time she was born.
it seems short, but felt like an eternity.
i have been waiting and praying for this point in my pregnancy, just
hoping and more praying
that my body will maintain this pregnancy
much longer.

lyla's day has been filled with much fun today.
she woke up early and gave me some
early-morning-sunlight -peaking -through-the-curtains
snuggles and wispers.
my favorite part of the day
then she requested to watch her favorite show: barney
witth some chocolate milk.
then we gave her a little present: a bug puzzle and book.
we had some worm and dirt cake, that she helped me make
and then spent the day swimming at nana and bambpa's house.
they even took a little trip to feed the horsies, as she had been requesting.

a perfect day for a perfect and special little girl
What a lovely little girl you have :) I'm hoping this pregnancy turns out exactly the way you want it to love :) totally_rachel
ReplyDeleteWow... I agree with Rachel! What a darling girl you have and what a blessing she is!
ReplyDeleteI was born at 29 weeks in 1984... and so, hearing from my mom and how it was for her, I think you women who endure this sort of thing are AMAZING!
I am wishing you peace and comfort and strength and all you will need the next little while!
Congrats on a healthy little Lyla and a little baby in your belly, too.
New here... hope you're okay if I stick around :)
