befana is the italian witch who delivers candy and gifts to kids on the night of january 5.
she is kind of like santa claus.
she gets in the house through the chimney.
and puts candy or coal in the children's stockings.
except she flies on her broom.
and she comes to our house :)

she brings us a few treats, a book, a little stuffed toy, and toothbrush.
how could she forget her little italian kids that live in other parts of the world?!
