lyla was recently diagnosed with spd.
sensory processing disorder
i started noticing a pattern in some of lyla's quirky habits
then i started looking into it
and chatting with her pediatrician
and we agreed on an occupational therapist evaluation
they confirmed spd and gave me information
and suggestions on how to handle spd.
treatment will include many sensory activities
classes, and therapy sessions.
i don't know if she will outgrow spd
but we will certainly figure out how to manage it
so that lyla feels more comfortable in her skin and world.
this will be a learning process for us all.
but i am glad we have an answer and something to work with
because now everything with her makes sense.
